early life
This interest led him first to professional theatre. In 1980, Ken moved from New Orleans to New York City, and quickly began thriving in his career as a dancer. Ken had been raised Catholic and left the church after coming out as gay, but became inspired by New Thought and moved to return to spirituality after a close friend was diagnosed with HIV.
In 1988, Ken was diagnosed as HIV-positive. He became involved with spiritual healing, studying with spiritual leader Marianne Williamson; he was also spurred to pursue his biggest dreams professionally. Within a year of his diagnosis, Ken had performed in the tour and Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, working closely with legendary director and choreographer Jerome Robbins.
Ken continued turning adversity into advantage. While in rehab and overcoming addiction, he felt called to continue exploring the human journey, this time through a greater focus on spirituality. While in treatment, he returned to structured spiritual practices and continued the spiritual work of recovery within the Unity Church.
He then began ministerial school in Kansas City, Missouri, becoming an ordained Unity minister. Today, Ken serves as Senior Minister of Unity San Francisco, where he also created Absolute Abundance, a life-changing course taught in spiritual communities across North America for over a decade.
Ken has helped people transform their lives through the Five Steps, making manifestation a grounded and practical process. Driven to empower others, Ken wrote Unapologetic Manifestation to give everyone the tools they need to build lives they love.
